Clean House and Locked Doors (Pt. 2)

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. 2 Cor. 10:3-5

God wants your mind because He wants you. Why is the mind so important? Because we become what we think about (Prov. 23:7). If He doesn’t control your thoughts He doesn’t have you. This is why we are to love Him with all your mind (Matt. 22:37).

Conversely, Satan wants to capture, control and corrupt your thought life. “As the serpent deceived Eve… so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.” (2 Cor. 11:3). He knows if you think wrong you will be and do wrong.

The devil wants to bring heartache and ruin. The devil knows the destructive power of the corrupted mind. “The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great… and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually” (Gen. 6:5). The devil has a well-laid plan – a strategy but fortunately we “are not ignorant of his devices” (2 cor. 2:11). This strategy can be summarized in two ways:

HE BLINDS THE MIND OF THE UNSAVED… “Whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them” (2 Cor. 4:4). A spiritually blinded mind is one that can’t perceive spiritual truth. This person would need their eyes open to Christ. These folks need prayer and spiritual warfare.

HE DISTORTS THE MINDS OF THE SAVED. Being saved doesn’t exempt you from attacks against your mind. He will attempt to bring anxiety, fear, doubts, impurity, deceptions and false doctrine against you to neutralize and destroy faith and your testimony. How many tragedies have their been in the church because folks have lost the battle for the mind.
